BOCOM INTL: Raises 2027-2028 global AI accelerator shipment forecasts; recommends attention to Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (00981) and others.
BOCOM INTL has raised its global AI accelerator shipment forecasts for 2027 and 2028 to 34.51 million units and 52.34 million units, respectively.
BOCOM INTL released a research report stating that, based on shipment guidance from major accelerator companies for 2027 and beyond, the bank believes the market may have better visibility into accelerator shipments after 2027, and that the global accelerator market growth rate is more optimistic than previously forecast. It has raised its full-year accelerator shipment forecasts for 2027 and 2028 to 34.51 million units and 52.34 million units, respectively.
The bank believes that increased visibility into AI accelerator shipments may help AI-related chip and hardware companies achieve short-term valuation recovery, and that rising AI accelerator chip shipments may drive demand for related components such as optical modules, memory, and PCBs. In the short to medium term, the rise of AI agents may further boost demand for CPUs and memory, further intensifying supply shortages and extending the upcycle.
In terms of targets, the bank recommends paying attention to AMD (AMD.US) in the CPU segment and SK Hynix in the memory segment. It also believes that large-cap accelerator and wafer foundry companies have more attractive valuations, and recommends paying attention to Broadcom Inc. (AVGO.US), Nvidia (NVDA.US), Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Sponsored ADR (TSM.US), and Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (00981).
