ESPRIT HOLDINGS (00330): Receipt of Statutory Demand
ESPRIT HOLDINGS (00330) announced that, in relation to the arbitration, on 16 September 2026, the Company received a statutory demand issued by a solicitor acting on behalf of the law firm under section 327(4)(a)(i) of the Companies (Winding Up and Miscellaneous Provisions) Ordinance (Chapter 32 of the Laws of Hong Kong), demanding payment by the Company of US$3,992,600 and HK$42,000. These amounts represent the outstanding sums as at the date of the statutory demand under the award as disclosed in the previous announcement.
ESPRIT HOLDINGS (00330) announced that, in relation to the arbitration, on 16 September 2026, the Company received a statutory demand issued by solicitors acting on behalf of the law firm pursuant to section 327(4)(a)(i) of the Companies (Winding Up and Miscellaneous Provisions) Ordinance (Chapter 32 of the Laws of Hong Kong), demanding the Company to pay US$3,992,600 and HK$42,000. These amounts represent the outstanding sums as at the date of the statutory demand under the award as disclosed in the previous announcement.
The statutory demand requires the Company to pay these amounts within 3 weeks after service of the statutory demand, or to provide security or make a settlement arrangement for these amounts in a manner reasonably satisfactory to the law firm, failing which the law firm may present a winding-up petition against the Company.
The Company is currently seeking legal advice on this matter and will take all necessary or appropriate actions to safeguard the overall interests of the Company, its shareholders and stakeholders. The Company is currently assessing the potential impact of this event on the Company's operations and financial position. Meanwhile, the Company remains willing to engage in discussions with the law firm with a view to reaching an amicable resolution.
