On September 3, the Hong Kong dollar interbank offered rate generally fell, with the one-month HIBOR related to mortgages reported at 2.84339%, down 1.917 basis points; the three-month HIBOR, reflecting the cost of bank funding, was reported at 3.02988%, up 0.167 basis points. The overnight rate reported at 2.38679%, down 55.535 basis points; the one-week HIBOR fell 28.744 basis points, reported at 2.63792%, while the two-week rate dropped 15.334 basis points, reported at 2.67345%. The two-month HIBOR decreased by 0.732 basis points, reported at 2.94268%. In terms of long-term rates, the six-month HIBOR fell by 0.072 basis points, reported at 3.21327%, while the one-year rate rose by 3.399 basis points, reported at 3.56423%.
