On August 27, the Hong Kong dollar interbank offered rates generally rose, with the one-month HIBOR linked to mortgages reported at 2.78821%, a decrease of 0.590 basis points; the three-month HIBOR, reflecting bank funding costs, was reported at 2.97869%, a drop of 0.851 basis points. The overnight rate was at 3.19071%, an increase of 5.095 basis points; the one-week HIBOR rose by 6.637 basis points to 3.11137%, while the two-week rate increased by 2.822 basis points to 2.91679%. The two-month HIBOR was reported at 2.91185%, an increase of 0.649 basis points. In terms of long-term rates, the six-month HIBOR rose by 0.518 basis points to 3.20518%, and the one-year rate remained unchanged at 3.50000%.
