On August 25, Hong Kong interbank interest rates continued to rise across the board, with the one-month HIBOR related to mortgages reported at 2.78256%, up 8.804 basis points; the three-month HIBOR, reflecting the cost of bank funds, reported at 2.98482%, up 4.030 basis points. The overnight rate was reported at 3.12500%, up 36.934 basis points; the one-week HIBOR rose by 33.536 basis points to 3.05994%, while the two-week rate increased by 23.471 basis points to 2.92429%. The two-month HIBOR was reported at 2.89786%, up 4.697 basis points. In terms of long-term rates, the six-month HIBOR remained unchanged at 3.20000%, and the one-year rate also remained stable at 3.50000%.
