On August 19, the Ministry of Justice issued an announcement regarding the improper extraterritorial jurisdiction constituted by the European Union's investigation into foreign subsidies. In accordance with Articles 3 and 6 of the Regulations of the People's Republic of China on Countering Foreign Improper Extraterritorial Jurisdiction, the Ministry of Justice, together with the Ministry of Commerce and other relevant departments, investigated and found that the EU's cross-border investigative practices targeting Chinese entities in its investigation into JD.com under its Foreign Subsidies Regulation constitute improper extraterritorial jurisdiction measures. No organization or individual may execute or assist in executing these improper extraterritorial jurisdiction measures. This announcement shall take effect from the date of publication.
