It was reported that compared to GLM-5.2, the base model of GLM-5.3 remains unchanged, but the model's intelligence upper limit has been greatly improved through extreme post-training scaling: dozens of times better performance in long-range task environments, a richer and more diverse range of environment types, and an extraordinarily long post-training duration. Additionally, Z.AI will open the model weights two weeks after the release, following the completion of safety assessments and model fortification. Compared to its predecessor, GLM-5.3 exhibits stronger programming capabilities. GLM-5.3 is the most powerful open-source model in terms of programming ability, showing a 50% improvement in internal self-built assessment tests compared to GLM-5.2, and achieving the top open-source score in public benchmark tests, including Terminal Bench 3.0 and Agents' Last Exam (CLI). In terms of cybersecurity capabilities, GLM-5.3 performs on par with Mythos 5 in security tasks such as white-box code review and vulnerability detection, demonstrating strong potential for cybersecurity defense scenarios; furthermore, all the mentioned enhancements stem from post-training. Based on IndexShare, SAO, and the continuously evolving next-generation Slime framework, Z.AI is efficiently advancing reinforcement learning on the same base as GLM-5.2, and it is likely that the intelligence upper limit of this base has not yet been fully explored. As of July 2026, Z.AI's ARR (Annual Recurring Revenue) has reached a scale of $1 billion, making it the first domestic large model vendor to achieve this business milestone.
