Hong Kong Property: In the first seven months of this year, there were 12,348 registrations of second-hand residential properties in Hong Kong priced between HK$5 million and HK$10 million, a year-on-year increase of nearly 50%.
In the first seven months of this year, over 5 million to 10 million HKD second-hand residential properties recorded 12,348 registrations, an increase of about 48.4% compared to 8,319 registrations during the same period last year, outperforming the overall market and reaching a four-year high for the same period.
Wang Pindi, Director of the Research Department at Hong Kong Property, indicated that according to comprehensive data from the Land Registry by the Hong Kong Property Research Department, there were 35,471 registrations of second-hand residential properties (including second-hand private residences and second-hand public housing) in the first seven months of this year, an increase of approximately 38.5% compared to 25,615 registrations during the same period last year. Among these, 12,348 registrations of second-hand residential properties priced between HK$5 million and HK$10 million were recorded in the first seven months of this year, representing an increase of about 48.4% compared to 8,319 registrations in the same period last year, outperforming the broader market and reaching a four-year high for the same period.
When dividing the registration volume of second-hand residential properties priced between HK$5 million and HK$10 million in the first seven months of this year by three districts, Kowloon (including Tseung Kwan O and Sai Kung) recorded 5,007 registrations, an increase of approximately 40.8% from 3,556 registrations in the same period last year; the New Territories saw 4,706 registrations, representing a 54.1% increase from 3,054 registrations last year; and Hong Kong Island (including Discovery Bay) recorded 2,635 registrations of second-hand residential properties priced between HK$5 million and HK$10 million, up about 54.2% from 1,709 registrations during the same period last year.
Regarding the ranking of estates by the number of registrations of second-hand residential properties priced between HK$5 million and HK$10 million in the first seven months of this year, Sunrise Property took the top spot with 495 registrations, an increase of about 82.0% from 272 registrations last year; Mei Foo Sun Chuen ranked second with 189 registrations, up approximately 18.9% from 159 registrations last year; and the recently completed SIERRA SEA came in third with 168 registrations of second-hand residential properties priced between HK$5 million and HK$10 million.
