The preliminary gross domestic product (GDP) value for the second quarter of 2026 is 102.33 billion Macau patacas, reflecting a real growth of 0.3% year-on-year, with the total economic output recovering to 87.9% of the level in the same period of 2019.
According to data from the Macao Statistics and Census Service, the number of visitors to Macao increased year-on-year in the first half of this year, driving service exports to maintain growth, resulting in a generally stable economic development in Macao. The preliminary value of the local GDP for the first half of 2026 was 209.89 billion patacas, with a real growth of 3.7% year-on-year, restoring the economic volume to 89.1% of that in the same period of 2019. Analyzing the main components, overall service exports grew by 7.2% driven by a 9.0% year-on-year increase in inbound visitors. In terms of domestic demand, private consumption expenditure rose by 2.8%, while government final consumption expenditure and gross fixed capital formation fell by 0.2% and 9.4%, respectively. The preliminary value of local GDP for the second quarter of 2026 was 102.33 billion patacas, with a real growth of 0.3% year-on-year, restoring the economic volume to 87.9% of that in the same period of 2019.
