The upcoming "Advancing AI 2026" conference to be held by AMD (AMD.US) may bring multiple benefits to the company's stock price, including announcing new large-scale AI customers and launching a new generation of rack-level accelerators.
The latest report from GF SEC pointed out that AMD (AMD.US) is about to hold the "Advancing AI 2026" conference, which may bring multiple benefits to the company's stock price, including announcing new large-scale AI customers and launching a new generation of rack-level accelerators, which are expected to further narrow the hardware gap with NVIDIA Corporation. Analyst Jeff Pu stated in an investment note on Tuesday that he expects the conference to showcase AMD's technology roadmap, and believes AMD is continuing to narrow the hardware gap with NVIDIA Corporation through the MI450X, while the MI550X is expected to take the lead. Market expectations are that AMD will announce Anthropic as its third GW-level customer at the conference, with the cooperation scale potentially exceeding previous deals with Meta and OpenAI. In addition, GF SEC is optimistic about the strong cycle of the "Venice" CPU, believing that it will benefit from sufficient supply chain inventory plans and is expected to drive average selling prices higher in 2027. AMD's Advancing AI 2026 conference is scheduled to be held in San Francisco from Wednesday to Thursday, with a team led by Lisa Su focusing on AI infrastructure, architecture, and development progress. Pu pointed out that the climb of rack-level systems is still a market focus, and it currently appears that it will progress as planned in the fourth quarter of 2026. He also expects AMD to disclose more details about the MI450X and MI550X, with the MI550X taking the lead in hardware specifications over NVIDIA Corporation's Rubin Ultra due to its use of a 4-chip package and larger capacity HBM memory. Based on these expectations, GF SEC has raised AMD's target price from $511 to $640 ahead of the conference, and reiterated a "buy" rating. At the same time, the institution has raised its earnings per share forecast for 2026 and 2027 by 2% and 11% respectively, with full-year revenue expectations raised from $51.5 billion to $52.3 billion (2026) and from $79.1 billion to $82.2 billion (2027). In terms of financial data, AMD is scheduled to release its second-quarter performance on August 4th. The market's consensus is an adjusted earnings per share of $1.61 and revenue of approximately $11.3 billion; while in the same period last year, AMD had earnings per share of $0.48 and revenue of $7.7 billion.
