Year-on-year increase of 150% Over eight-tenths of counterfeit subjects are websites of enterprises and institutions
Since the beginning of this year, the Cyberspace Administration of China's Reporting Center has actively responded to social concerns, continuously increasing efforts in the acceptance and disposal of reports on counterfeit and fake websites. In the first half of the year, a total of 759 counterfeit and fake websites were transferred for disposal, an increase of 150% compared to the same period in 2025, involving websites of party and government organs, institutions, enterprises, social organizations, and international organizations.
Types and disposal volume of counterfeit and fake websites (unit: websites)
I. Disposal Volume
From the disposal volume, there were 127 counterfeit and fake websites of party and government organs (such as the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and Xiong'an New Area), accounting for 16.7% of the total disposal volume. There were 310 counterfeit and fake websites of institutions (academic journal submission units, schools, hospitals, etc.), accounting for 40.8%, with 180 counterfeit and fake academic journal submission websites, accounting for 24%. The number of counterfeit and fake enterprise websites (state-owned, private, foreign) was the highest (313), accounting for 41.2%, with 205 counterfeit and fake private enterprise websites, accounting for 27%.
II. Main Performances and Cases
1. Counterfeit and fake websites of party and government organs. These websites usually attract netizens to visit under the pretext of applying for subsidies, preferential policies for settling down, etc., or pretend to have changed their names or been revoked, deceiving people under the guise of being "official."

Case two: Comparison of genuine and fake Xiong'an New Area government service websites
2. Counterfeit and fake websites of institutions. These websites usually attract netizens to visit under the pretext of registration, information queries, qualification certification, etc., or use the names, issue numbers, editorial department information of legitimate journals, illegally obtain personal information, original manuscripts, and even deceive people to pay for registration, certification, manuscript review, etc. For journal submissions, netizens are encouraged to try to use the "Journal Query" section on the official website of the China Periodicals Association (http://www.cpa-online.org.cn/) to find legitimate submission channels.

Case four: Fake "Publishing and Distribution Research" submission website
(After investigation, the journal does not have an official submission website and only accepts submissions via email)
3. Counterfeit and fake enterprise websites. These websites mainly involve the unauthorized use of the names of well-known enterprises, e-commerce platforms, etc., providing false services, publishing false information, inducing netizens to register accounts, provide information, and even pay fees. This not only damages the brand image of enterprises but also easily leads to personal information leakage and financial losses for netizens.

III. Friendly Reminders
We remind netizens to verify the domain name, ICP filing, and the name of the hosting unit when visiting websites. Be cautious of links with unknown sources, pop-up advertisements, private messages on social platforms, and websites retrieved from search engines; do not easily believe or transfer money. At the same time, hosting units of websites should strengthen the management of official channels such as websites and apps, conduct regular risk checks, and if counterfeit and fake issues occur, they should promptly issue statements to remind the public to distinguish between authenticity and falsity.
The Reporting Center of the Cyberspace Administration of China will continue to keep the reporting channels open, lawfully handle reports on counterfeit and fake websites, and welcome netizens to report relevant clues through the "Fraudulent" entrance on the official website of the Reporting Center of the Cyberspace Administration of China (www.12377.cn) to jointly combat counterfeit and fake websites and maintain a clean online space.
