The Ministry of Commerce holds a nationwide TV and telephone conference to advance the work of trading in old for new consumer goods.

On July 17th, the Ministry of Commerce held a national teleconference to promote the work of the consumer goods trade-in program in the middle of the year, summarizing the progress and effectiveness of policy implementation in the first half of the year, and deploying key tasks for the next steps. Assistant Minister of Commerce, Yuan Xiaoming, attended and spoke at the meeting. The commerce departments of Hebei, Henan, Hubei, and Sichuan also made remarks and exchanged information. The meeting pointed out that since 2026, the Ministry of Commerce has diligently implemented the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, working with various regions and relevant departments to steadily promote the implementation of the policy of trading in old for new consumer goods, continuously expanding the coverage of the policy, benefiting over 150 million people, effectively promoting the improvement of consumption quality, and promoting resource recycling, achieving multiple policy effects. The meeting emphasized that all regions and relevant departments should further enhance their political stance, establish and practice the correct view of achievements, implement the policy of trading old for new consumer goods with determination and precision, further intensify their efforts, strengthen departmental cooperation, widely promote policy initiatives, expand the coverage of policies, continually enrich offline consumption scenarios, optimize subsidy approval and payment processes, facilitate public participation in and enjoyment of policies, and enhance the sense of public benefit. The Central Finance Bureau, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the State Administration of Taxation, and the State Administration for Market Regulation, as well as other units, attended the main meeting. The heads of the commerce departments of provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government, and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps attended the meeting at the sub-venues.
