DeepSeek has started preparing for an A-share IPO and plans to conduct another round of financing before going public.
The report cited sources saying that DeepSeek's goal is to raise at least another 10 billion yuan, but the final amount could increase several times depending on the number of investors.
According to reports, DeepSeek has begun preparations to list in the mainland, with the earliest possible submission of an application this year and the goal of listing by 2027. Currently, the company is in discussions with accountants and bank advisors. At the same time, after completing a $7 billion financing, DeepSeek is planning to continue raising more funds through the private placement market before the IPO. DeepSeek has started negotiations with new investors for a new round of financing, with the goal of a pre-investment valuation of at least 480 billion yuan (about $71 billion), a 37% increase from its initial financing valuation. Sources cited in the report stated that DeepSeek's goal is to raise at least 10 billion yuan more, but the final amount may increase several times depending on the number of investors.
In early June, DeepSeek was reported to have completed a round of over 50 billion yuan in financing, setting a record for the first round of financing for a Chinese technology startup. It was revealed that DeepSeek's founder and CEO, Liang Wenfeng, was the largest contributor in this round, personally contributing 20 billion yuan, Tencent contributing 10 billion yuan, Contemporary Amperex Technology contributing 5 billion yuan, and JD.com, NTES, and IDG Capital each contributing 30 billion yuan.
