National Medical Insurance Administration: 601 drugs have been reviewed through the form adjustment of the medical insurance catalog until 2026.
On July 14, the State Medical Insurance Administration issued a notice on announcing the list of declared drugs for the formal review of adjustments to the drug catalogues for the National Basic Medical Insurance, Maternity Insurance, and Work Injury Insurance, as well as the commercial health insurance innovative drug catalog for the year 2026.
On July 14th, the National Medical Insurance Administration released a notice regarding the announcement of the list of applied drugs for the formal review of the adjustment of the National Basic Medical Insurance, Maternity Insurance, and Work-related Injury Insurance Drug Catalogs for the year 2026, as well as the Commercial Health Insurance Innovative Drug Catalog. During the application phase for the 2026 catalog adjustment, our administration received a total of 800 applications for the Basic Medical Insurance Catalog, involving 664 generic drug names. Eventually, 601 were approved for formal review, with 368 outside the catalog and 233 within the catalog, resulting in an overall approval rate of 91%. We also received 62 applications for the Commercial Insurance Innovative Drug Catalog, involving 62 generic drug names. Out of these, 58 were approved for formal review, with 57 outside the catalog and 1 within the catalog, resulting in an overall approval rate of 94%. It is important to note that formal review is the initial step in the adjustment of the medical insurance drug catalog and passing the formal review only indicates that the drug meets the corresponding application requirements and qualifies for expert evaluation, it does not mean that the drug has been included in the catalog.

From June 29th to July 5th, our administration publicly announced the "List of Applied Drugs for the Preliminary Formal Review of the Adjustment of the National Basic Medical Insurance, Maternity Insurance, and Work-related Injury Insurance Drug Catalogs and Commercial Innovative Drug Catalog for the year 2026". During the public announcement period, a total of 103 feedback comments were received.
1. Correction of results
Based on the feedback received, our administration reviewed and corrected the results of the drug reviews according to the procedures. The specific corrections are as follows:
1. Danggui Liuhuang Decoction changed to pass the formal review, meeting the conditions for being outside the catalog 1;
2. Jiawei Huanglian Jiedu Ointment changed to pass the formal review, meeting the conditions for being outside the catalog 1;
3. Budesonide Oral Solution passed the formal review, but the review result was changed to meet the conditions for being outside the catalog 1/6;
4. Budesonide Injection passed the formal review, but the review result was changed to meet the conditions for being outside the catalog 1/6;
5. Methoxyflurane syrup changed from exclusive to non-exclusive;
6. Meloxicam Injection (III) changed from exclusive to non-exclusive;
7. Arginine Dispersible Tablets changed from exclusive to non-exclusive;
8. Sizhi Wann Capsules changed from non-exclusive to exclusive;
9. Tegorlaser Oral Tablets changed the column "Is it a Class 1 new drug" from "Yes" to "No";
10. Omadecycline Hydrochloride for Injection changed the column "Is it a Class 1 new drug" from "Yes" to "No";
11. Recombinant Mycobacterium Fusion Protein (EC) changed the column "Is it a Class 1 new drug" from "Yes" to "No";
12. Yishen Yangxin Anshen Tablets changed the column "Is it a Class 1 new drug" from "Yes" to "No";
13. Cefoxitin Sodium for Injection exclusive situation changed from "Yes" to "Yes (domestic production)";
14. Pracin capsules exclusive situation changed from "Yes" to "Yes (domestic production)";
15. Clolaric Acid Hydrochloride for Injection exclusive situation changed from "Yes" to "Yes (domestic production)";
Furthermore, the results of the formal review for pre-declared varieties, verified by relevant departments and supplemented with submission documents from companies, will also be announced.
2. Final formal review results
During the application phase for the 2026 catalog adjustment, our administration received a total of 800 applications for the Basic Medical Insurance Catalog, involving 664 generic drug names. 3. Other notes
It is worth mentioning that for some non-exclusive varieties, different enterprises may apply under different conditions for the same generic name. We conduct formal reviews based on the application conditions of the enterprise, and only drug enterprises that pass the formal review can participate in subsequent work. Next, our administration will organize expert reviews and other work in accordance with the requirements of the "Interim Measures for Drug Management of Basic Medical Insurance" and the "Work Plan for the Adjustment of the National Basic Medical Insurance, Maternity Insurance, Work-related Injury Insurance Drug Catalogs, and Commercial Health Insurance Innovative Drug Catalog for the year 2026" in a procedural manner. The final results of the formal review have been synchronized and feedback to the enterprise accounts.
