ECARX Holdings, Inc. acquired the Flyme software business: this year, the Flyme OS system will be upgraded, and the mass production of Auto 3.0 will be implemented, accelerating the "All in AI Agent" strategy.
This transaction will further improve the end-to-end operational capabilities of Yikatong Technology, solidifying the foundation for its core strategy of "All in AI Agent" to be implemented.
On June 22nd, ECARX Holdings, Inc. (ECX.US), a global automotive intelligent full-stack solution company, announced that it has signed a final acquisition agreement to acquire Flyme software business, including the Flyme Auto intelligent cockpit operating system and the cross-device Flyme operating system's two core products. The company will acquire the relevant software business and core assets through the acquisition of Hubei Qiguang Technology Co., Ltd., which was set up by the Meizu Group. The total amount of this transaction is 1.8 billion RMB (approximately 266 million USD). This transaction will further improve ECARX Holdings, Inc.'s end-to-end operating system capability construction and solidify its "All in AI Agent" core strategy.
As one of the domestic leading intelligent terminal operating systems, Flyme OS has accumulated over 15 years of technology and product iteration experience, and its Flyme Auto is one of the leading intelligent cockpit operating systems in China. Commercially, Flyme has developed mature business models such as software licensing, customized technology development, and intelligent cockpit solution delivery, and is expected to be profitable by 2026, proving the sustainability and long-term development potential of its business model. Currently, ECARX Holdings, Inc. has partnered with multiple mainstream automakers and has installed Flyme Auto on over 2 million mass-produced vehicles, accumulating rich experience in scale delivery.
It is worth noting that ECARX Holdings, Inc. emphasizes its continuous commitment to the Flyme business and users. After the acquisition is completed, ECARX Holdings, Inc. will establish an independent software business unit to operate the Flyme business, ensuring smooth continuation of research and development work and seamless service for automaker clients. At the same time, the company will provide an additional 200 million RMB in operational funding to Hubei Qiguang Technology to provide stable resource support for the continuous research and development and business expansion of the Flyme team. The relevant user data will continue to belong to Meizu and will be managed and maintained by Meizu.
Addressing the product update issue that concerns many Meizu users, ECARX Holdings, Inc. stated that it will continue to support the iteration and upgrade of the Flyme platform and the entire operating system, with a focus on advancing the AI Agent version. The product schedule for the year is clear, with existing Meizu phone users set to receive a large-scale system upgrade, and the new Flyme Auto 3.0 in-car system will be officially released to further enhance product experience and intelligence capabilities.
