According to statistics from CINNO Research, the global market for AMOLED smartphone panels shipped approximately 210 million units in the first quarter of 2026, a year-on-year decrease of 0.7% and a quarter-on-quarter decrease of 19.7%. Despite facing market challenges, the overall shipment performance remains stable, with no significant year-on-year decline. This is mainly due to a clear structural differentiation in terminal procurement strategies: due to a significant increase in upstream storage chip costs, domestic Android brands have generally tightened their procurement plans due to cost pressures, while Apple and Samsung have maintained stable procurement due to supply chain advantages and high profitability resilience. In addition, some domestic panel manufacturers on the supply side have actively front-loaded future demand to maintain production line operating rates and mitigate the risk of future price increases, further supporting the first-quarter shipment performance. If future terminal demand does not improve, the market may continue to be under pressure. Data Source: CINNO Quarterly Mobile Phone Panel Value Chain Report CINNO Research Comments By region, in the first quarter of 2026, the AMOLED smartphone panel market in South Korea accounted for 49.6% of the share, while domestic manufacturers accounted for 50.4% of the shipment share, a decrease of 0.4 percentage points year-on-year and 0.5 percentage points quarter-on-quarter, still maintaining over half of the market share. Samsung Display (SDC) saw a year-on-year increase of 0.6% in shipments of AMOLED smartphone panels, with a market share of 41.7%, an increase of 0.5 percentage points year-on-year, mainly due to its absolute dominance in the high-end market and its steady position in high-end markets such as Apple. BOE's AMOLED smartphone panel shipments increased by 17.7% year-on-year, with a market share increasing by 3.1 percentage points to 20.1%, the largest growth in shipments and market share, benefiting from Apple iPhone orders and continuous breakthroughs in high-end technologies such as LTPO and foldable screens. Tianma's AMOLED smartphone panel shipments decreased by 5.9% year-on-year, with a market share decreasing by 0.5 percentage points to 9.9%, significantly under pressure in the mid-range market due to the impact of rising storage chip prices, leading to a weakening demand for Tianma panels. Visionox Technology Inc.'s AMOLED smartphone panel shipments increased by 8.9% year-on-year, with a market share increasing by 0.8 percentage points to 9.4%, achieving counter-trend growth in the overall market under pressure, mainly due to its unique technological advantages and optimized customer strategy.
