On May 9th, BYD Company Limited, Xiaopeng Motors, and GAC Aion all released statements denying rumors of being "talked to" or "under investigation" etc. BYD Company Limited's official Weibo account stated, "Rumors of BYD Company Limited being talked to or under investigation are purely false rumors, and the company has gathered evidence and will pursue legal responsibility against those spreading rumors." The legal department of Xiaopeng Motors Group pointed out that some social media accounts used AI applications to maliciously spread rumors of "8 car companies being talked to" and "3 companies being investigated for violations" including Xiaopeng in the list.
