In the first quarter, the electronic information manufacturing industry with a scale above a designated level achieved operating income of 4.31 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 14.8%; operating costs of 3.69 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.7%; and a total profit of 217 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.25 times. The text continues: Operation of the electronic information manufacturing industry in the first quarter of 2026 In the first quarter of 2026, China's electronic information manufacturing industry saw rapid production growth, sustained export rebound, significant improvement in efficiency, accelerated investment growth, and a good overall development trend in the industry. I. Rapid production growth In the first quarter, the value added of the electronic information manufacturing industry with a scale above a designated level increased by 13.6% year-on-year, with growth rates 7.5 and 1.1 percentage points higher than those of the same period in overall industry and high-tech manufacturing respectively. In March, the value added of the electronic information manufacturing industry with a scale above a designated level increased by 12.5% year-on-year. Among the main products, the output of mobile phones was 345 million units, an increase of 0.6% year-on-year, of which 298 million units were smartphones, an increase of 6.9% year-on-year; the output of microcomputing equipment was 72.02 million units, a decrease of 8.4% year-on-year; and the output of integrated circuits was 127.2 billion pieces, an increase of 24.3% year-on-year. II. Sustained export rebound In the first quarter, the cumulative export delivery value of the electronic information manufacturing industry with a scale above a designated level increased by 4.2% year-on-year, an increase of 3 percentage points from January to February. In March, the electronic information manufacturing industry with a scale above a designated level achieved a year-on-year increase of 9.3% in export delivery value. According to customs statistics, in the first quarter, China exported 29.4 million laptops, a decrease of 11.8% year-on-year; 165 million mobile phones, a decrease of 1.5% year-on-year; and 85 billion integrated circuits, an increase of 13.4% year-on-year. III. Faster revenue growth in the central and eastern regions In the first quarter, the eastern region of the electronic information manufacturing industry achieved operating income of 3.028 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.6%, a decrease of 0.7 percentage points from January to February; the central region achieved operating income of 820.1 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 32.8%, an increase of 4.4 percentage points from January to February; the western region achieved operating income of 466.4 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.3%, an increase of 2.7 percentage points from January to February; and the northeastern region achieved operating income of 20.48 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 1.9%, an increase of 1.2 percentage points from January to February. In March, the eastern region achieved operating income of 1.576 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.6%; the central region achieved operating income of 327.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 40.2%; the western region achieved operating income of 185.8 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13.7%; and the northeastern region achieved operating income of 7.7 billion yuan, a year-on-year parity.
