On April 15th, the latest data from IDC's "China Game Cloud Market Tracking, 2025H2" showed that in the second half of 2025, Alibaba Cloud ranked first in market share, driving a continuous increase throughout the year. This marks the fifth consecutive year that Alibaba Cloud has maintained its position as the number one player in the Chinese game cloud market. In the two submarkets of game cloud solutions and infrastructure, Alibaba Cloud holds the number one position with market shares of 42% and 39% respectively. Alibaba Cloud leads the solution market with a growth rate of 23%, with its big data and AI solutions serving as the core growth engine. The Chinese game cloud market reached a scale of 1.1 billion US dollars in the second half of 2025, with a 16% year-on-year growth and an expanded growth rate. IDC China Research Manager Wei Yunfeng stated that game customers are incorporating AI-driven game characters as an important component of their projects, even attempting to use AI to shift the worldview from a predefined design to endlessly generated content. This trend, along with projects created by AI intelligent agents, is bringing new growth opportunities to the game cloud market. Facing this trend, Alibaba Cloud is leveraging its technical advantages in cloud computing and AI technologies to pioneer a new paradigm of AI games with industry clients. For example, in the case of "History Simulator: Chongzhen," as the first AI-native historical strategy game in China, players can reconstruct the late Ming Dynasty system with the help of the Qianwen large model. Through natural language interactions with Qianwen, players can draft edicts and issue decrees to reshape historical events. Each decision made by players in the complex situation of the late Ming Dynasty will trigger a chain reaction of historical simulations by AI, unlocking new historical narratives. In the AI-native gameplay of "Supernatural Action Team," a game under the Giant Network Group that was created in collaboration with the Qianwen model, AI player NPCs can engage in voice conversations, act, infiltrate teams to deceive real players, and even launch attacks against them in critical moments. Within a week of its launch, the total number of rounds played between AI NPCs and real players exceeded 25 million. The Three Kingdoms-themed SLG game "Wilds of Nine Steeds" developed by Xianfeng Games and distributed by Thunder Games surged into the top 25 of the iOS bestseller list on its first day of public testing, achieving the best debut performance of domestic SLG new games in 2025. The game's intelligent customer service system "Knowledge Desk," built on the Qianwen model, provides players with 24/7 online service, accurately and efficiently answering game-related questions to significantly enhance the gaming experience. Apart from AI's push on the gaming market, overseas expansion is also bringing more opportunities. For example, with "Arknights: End of the World," Alibaba Cloud supported the global launch of the game, which exceeded 30 million cumulative downloads worldwide on the second day of its release. Faced with a surge in traffic, Alibaba Cloud's full-stack technology solutions successfully ensured the stable operation of the game, providing global players with a highly smooth gaming experience. Through the latest generation of ECS instances, container ACK, and multiple Serverless database and big data analysis products, Alibaba Cloud aided the game server in achieving real-time scalability and Beijing Vastdata Technology's real-time read/write processing; at the network level, a global integrated high-availability architecture combined with million-level QPS load balancing and cloud enterprise network was used to provide millisecond response times for high-frequency combat interactions and efficient synchronization of data worldwide. As China's largest and Asia's top cloud computing company, Alibaba Cloud has become the preferred choice for many game companies. Companies such as miHoYo, NetEase, 37 Interactive Entertainment Network Technology Group, IDREAMSKY, FunPlus, and Firstfun are all running on Alibaba Cloud, providing quality and stable game cloud services to hundreds of millions of players worldwide.
