According to statistics from the Ministry of Transport, during the Qingming Festival holiday from April 4th to 6th, the total inter-regional population flow is expected to reach 8.45 billion person-times, with an average of about 2.8 billion person-times per day, an increase of 6% compared to the Qingming Festival holiday in 2025. Specifically, the railway passenger volume is expected to be 57.79 million person-times, with a daily average of 19.23 million person-times, an 8.2% increase compared to the previous year. The road population flow is expected to be 778 million person-times, with a daily average of 259 million person-times, a 5.8% increase. The waterway passenger volume is expected to be 3.725 million person-times, with a daily average of 1.24 million person-times, a 9.8% increase. The civil aviation passenger volume is expected to be 5.524 million person-times, with a daily average of 1.84 million person-times, a 1.3% decrease. On the first day of the holiday, the national expressway traffic volume exceeded 62.67 million vehicles, with over 14 million new energy vehicles, the strong self-driving travel drove a double-digit growth in tourist attractions, hotels, and car rental consumption. In addition, returning to hometowns for tomb-sweeping and rural depth tours brought "popularity" to rural areas, promoting consumption from central cities to urban-rural areas, injecting strong momentum into the economy at the beginning of the year.
