Raymond James raises Walt Disney Company(DIS.US) target price, calling the company's valuation extremely attractive.
After a temporary pullback in the stock price, Disney received a target price upgrade by institutions.
After experiencing a phased pullback in stock prices, Walt Disney Company (DIS.US) received a target price upgrade from institutions. Raymond James set its target price at $115, believing that the company's valuation is attractive in the current macroeconomic environment.
Raymond James analyst Ric Prentiss stated in the latest report that the team conducted multiple scenario stress tests on Walt Disney Company, including different levels of pessimistic expectations. The results showed that even under more severe assumptions, the company's valuation remains at historically low levels.
Data shows that Walt Disney Company's stock price has declined by about 14% in the past six months, primarily due to lower-than-expected performance guidance for the fourth quarter of 2025 and the first quarter of 2026. Although the market expects the company's adjusted earnings per share to remain flat or decrease year-on-year in the second quarter of fiscal year 2026, analysts believe that multiple positive factors in the second half of the year are likely to significantly improve the company's performance.
These potential catalysts include the launch of new cruise projects, the expansion of the "Frozen" theme at the Walt Disney Company park in Paris, improvements in the content business and traditional television business bases, and the positive impact of the pace of sports rights costs.
However, Prentiss also emphasized that the target price upgrade is not based on short-term performance, and institutions have not given a "strong buy" rating considering the pressure on the theme park business and macroeconomic uncertainty. But in terms of risk-reward ratio, the current stock price level is attractive.
In terms of valuation, Walt Disney Company's forward 12-month P/E ratio is currently around 13 times, significantly lower than the five-year average of 27.4 times. Based on the $115 target price, there is still about 19% upside potential compared to the current stock price.
