According to data from the Macao Statistics and Census Service, in February 2026, the number of inbound tourists increased by 32.6% year-on-year to 4,172,940 people, benefiting from the Spring Festival holiday.
According to data from the Statistics and Census Service of Macao, the number of inbound tourists in February 2026 increased by 32.6% year-on-year to 4,172,940, benefiting from the Chinese New Year holiday. However, the number of overnight tourists (2,676,431) and staying tourists (1,496,509) increased by 41.8% and 18.8% respectively. The average length of stay for tourists (0.9 days) decreased by 0.2 days year-on-year, with the average length of stay for staying tourists (2.1 days) decreasing by 0.1 day. In terms of visitor source analysis, the number of mainland Chinese tourists in February increased by 43.6% year-on-year to 3,291,164, with individual tourists (2,032,456) increasing by 52.7%. The number of tourists from Hong Kong SAR (591,300) and Taiwan region of China (89,628) increased by 2.0% and 31.9% respectively compared to the same period last year. There were a total of 200,848 international tourists in February, a decrease of 3.3% year-on-year. In the Southeast Asian market, tourists from the Philippines (45,195) increased by 16.3%, while tourists from Indonesia (11,587) and Thailand (9,973) decreased by 22.3% and 11.4% respectively. Tourists from India in South Asia (5,831) increased by 42.5%, while tourists from Korea in Northeast Asia (55,994) decreased by 5.6%. Among long-haul markets, tourists from the United States (11,142) increased by 5.5% year-on-year. In the first two months of 2026, the total number of inbound tourists was 7,820,268, an increase of 15.1% year-on-year; however, the number of overnight tourists (4,931,130) and staying tourists (2,889,138) increased by 22.0% and 5.0% respectively. The total number of international tourists in the first two months was 479,301, an increase of 6.8% year-on-year. The overall average length of stay for tourists remained at 1.0 day, while the average length of stay for staying tourists (2.2 days) was the same as the same period last year.
