According to statistics from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, the total market capitalization of the Hong Kong securities market reached 49.9 trillion Hong Kong dollars by the end of February 2026, a 28% increase from the same period last year when it was 39.1 trillion Hong Kong dollars. The average daily trading value in February was 2,468 billion Hong Kong dollars. The average daily trading value in the first two months of 2026 was 2,609 billion Hong Kong dollars, a 17% increase from the same period last year when it was 2,225 billion Hong Kong dollars.
Overall, in the first two months of 2026, there were 24 new listed companies, a 140% increase from the same period last year when there were only 10. The total amount raised through initial public offerings in the first two months of 2026 was 892 billion Hong Kong dollars, a 1015% increase from 80 billion Hong Kong dollars in the same period last year. The total amount raised in the first two months of 2026 was 1,234 billion Hong Kong dollars, a 331% increase from 286 billion Hong Kong dollars in the same period last year. Additionally, the average daily trading value of exchange-traded funds in the first two months of 2026 was 352 billion Hong Kong dollars, an 11% increase from 317 billion Hong Kong dollars in the same period last year.

The average daily trading volume of futures and options in the first two months of 2026 was 1,718,637 contracts.
The average daily trading volume of stock index options in the first two months of 2026 was 150,570 contracts, a 12% increase from 134,064 contracts in the same period last year.
On February 4, 2026, the trading volume of Hang Seng Technology Index futures options reached a historical high of 208,378 contracts.
