The industrial producer purchase prices fell by 1.4% year-on-year, a decrease of 0.7 percentage points from the previous month; month-on-month, they rose by 0.5%, an increase of 0.1 percentage points from the previous month.
I. Changes in industrial producer prices year-on-year
In January, among industrial producer prices, the prices of production materials decreased by 1.3%, resulting in a decrease of about 1.06 percentage points in the overall level of industrial producer prices. Specifically, the prices of extraction industry decreased by 8.1%, raw material industry decreased by 2.0%, and processing industry decreased by 0.4%. The prices of daily necessities decreased by 1.7%, resulting in a decrease of about 0.38 percentage points in the overall level of industrial producer prices. Specifically, food prices decreased by 1.9%, clothing prices decreased by 0.7%, and prices of general daily necessities and durable consumer goods all decreased by 1.8%.
Among industrial producer purchase prices, fuel and power prices decreased by 7.1%, chemical raw material prices decreased by 5.8%, building materials and non-metal prices decreased by 4.7%, black metal materials, and agricultural products prices decreased by 2.9%, and textile raw material prices decreased by 2.2%; prices of non-ferrous metal materials and wires increased by 16.1%.
II. Changes in industrial producer prices month-on-month
In January, among industrial producer prices, the prices of production materials increased by 0.5%, resulting in an increase of about 0.37 percentage points in the overall level of industrial producer prices. Specifically, the prices of extraction industry decreased by 1.7%, raw material industry increased by 0.7%, and processing industry increased by 0.5%. The prices of daily necessities increased by 0.1%, resulting in an increase of about 0.01 percentage points in the overall level of industrial producer prices. Specifically, food prices decreased by 0.1%, clothing prices decreased by 0.3%, prices of general daily necessities decreased by 0.1%, and durable consumer goods prices increased by 0.3%.
Among industrial producer purchase prices, prices of non-ferrous metal materials and wires increased by 4.5%, agricultural products prices increased by 0.7%, chemical raw material prices increased by 0.1%; fuel and power prices decreased by 0.7%, and building materials and non-metal prices decreased by 0.6%; prices of black metal materials and textile raw materials remained unchanged.
