In terms of visitor source analysis, the total number of tourists from Mainland China in 2025 increased by 18.5% to 29,017,164, with individual travelers (15,440,699) rising by 25.7%. The number of visitors entering through the "one week, one visit", "multiple visits on one permit", and "group entry and exit" programs were 2,137,931, 780,936, and 177,162 respectively. Due to the 58.1% increase in tourists in Zhuhai, the number of visitors in the Greater Bay Area increased by 23.7% to 14,828,192. Visitors from Hong Kong (7,300,582) and Taiwan (996,140) increased by 1.7% and 19.4% respectively.
The total number of international tourists in 2025 was 2,755,474, an increase of 13.7%. In the Southeast Asian market, tourists from the Philippines (540,284), Indonesia (208,043), Malaysia (188,977), and Thailand (185,963) increased by 9.5%, 13.6%, 3.9%, and 38.1% respectively, while tourists from Singapore (117,165) decreased by 1.7%. Tourists from India (114,040) increased by 9.8%, and from Northeast Asia, tourists from South Korea (547,638) and Japan (159,455) increased by 11.3% and 26.1% respectively. Among long-haul sources, tourists from the United States (162,460) increased by 9.8%.
In terms of entry channels, the number of tourists entering by land (33,084,253, accounting for 82.6% of the total) increased by 19.1% compared to the previous year, with an increase of 23.5% and 42.0% at the Gongbei Port and Hengqin Port. The number of tourists entering by sea (3,935,435, 9.8%) and air (3,049,672, 7.6%) decreased by 3.9% and 0.5% respectively.
In December 2025, the total number of inbound tourists was 3,580,130, an increase of 17.8% compared to the same period last year; day-trip visitors (2,107,339) and overnight visitors (1,472,791) increased by 23.0% and 10.9% respectively. The average length of stay for all tourists decreased by 0.2 to 0.9 days; the average length of stay for overnight visitors (2.1 days) decreased by 0.2 days, while day-trip visitors (0.2 days) remained the same.
