The Hong Kong government is accelerating the development of the northern metropolitan area and the He'Shan Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Innovation Cooperation Zone in the River Estuary, which connects the northern capital with Shenzhen. Currently, the Hong Kong Park has officially opened and will collaborate with urban areas in the Greater Bay Area to jointly build an international innovation center, develop new productive forces, and contribute more to national high-level scientific and technological self-reliance.
Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu stated that the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China has outlined the strategic blueprint for the national economic and social development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period. Hong Kong will actively engage and align with the 15th Five-Year Plan, promote high-quality economic development, and actively participate in the construction of the Greater Bay Area. He mentioned that the Hong Kong government is accelerating the development of the Northern Metropolis and the Heatsink Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone Hong Kong Park connected to Shenzhen in the northern region. The Hong Kong Park has officially opened, aiming to collaborate with cities in the Greater Bay Area to build an international innovation center and develop new productive forces to contribute more to the country's high-level science and technology self-reliance. John Lee Ka-chiu mentioned that Hong Kong is a globally renowned international financial, shipping, and trade center, and will expedite the development of new growth points, including establishing an international gold trading center, enhancing offshore RMB market business, and building a bulk commodities trading ecosystem. At the same time, they are establishing a three-dimensional transportation system of "Iron, Sea, Land, and River" to efficiently connect with the vast market in the Mainland. He pointed out that amid the complex geopolitics and increasing demand for "Made in China" products globally, Hong Kong will leverage its advantages under the principle of "One Country, Two Systems" to expand global economic and trade networks actively and play a role as a super connector and super value-added person. The authorities have set up a special team to assist Mainland enterprises in setting up financial centers and regional headquarters in Hong Kong and expand overseas markets with professional high-value-added services.
