The data released by the National Bureau of Statistics shows that in December 2025, the value added of industrial enterprises above a designated size increased by 5.2% year-on-year (the growth rate of value added is the actual growth rate excluding price factors). Month-on-month, the value added of industrial enterprises above a designated size increased by 0.49% compared to the previous month. In 2025, the value added of industrial enterprises above a designated size increased by 5.9% compared to the previous year.
By major category, in December, the value added of the mining industry increased by 5.4% year-on-year, manufacturing industry by 5.7%, and the production and supply of electricity, heat, gas, and water by 0.8%.
By economic type, in December, the value added of state-owned holding enterprises increased by 3.9% year-on-year; joint-stock enterprises by 5.8%, foreign and Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan-invested enterprises by 2.7%; private enterprises by 4.2%.
By industry, in December, out of 41 major industries, the value added of 33 industries maintained year-on-year growth. Among them, coal mining and washing industry increased by 6.4%, petroleum and natural gas extraction industry by 3.7%, agricultural and sideline food processing industry by 3.2%, alcohol, beverage and refined tea manufacturing industry declined by 0.5%, textile industry increased by 3.7%, chemical raw materials and chemical product manufacturing industry increased by 8.0%, non-metallic mineral product industry increased by 0.2%, black metal smelting and pressing processing industry increased by 0.7%, non-ferrous metal smelting and pressing processing industry increased by 4.8%, general equipment manufacturing industry increased by 7.5%, special equipment manufacturing industry increased by 8.2%, automobile manufacturing industry increased by 8.3%, railway, ship, aerospace and other transportation equipment manufacturing industry increased by 9.2%, electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing industry increased by 4.3%, computer, communication and other electronic equipment manufacturing industry increased by 11.8%, and electricity, heat production and supply industry increased by 1.1%.
By product, in December, out of 623 products of industrial enterprises above a designated size, 325 products had a year-on-year increase in output. Among them, steel output was 115.31 million tons, a decrease of 3.8% year-on-year; cement output was 144.16 million tons, a decrease of 6.6%; ten kinds of non-ferrous metals were 7.21 million tons, an increase of 4.9%; ethylene was 3.56 million tons, an increase of 3.0%; automobiles were 3.412 million vehicles, a decrease of 2.8%, of which new energy vehicles were 1.791 million vehicles, an increase of 8.7%; electricity generation was 858.6 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 0.1%; crude oil processing amount was 624.6 million tons, an increase of 5.0%.
In December, the product sales rate of industrial enterprises above a designated size was 98.2%, a decrease of 0.7 percentage points year-on-year; the export delivery value of industrial enterprises above a designated size reached 1.4932 trillion yuan, a nominal increase of 3.2% year-on-year.
