Vestas secured a massive 660 MW offshore wind order in the EMEA region, to be included in its Q4 2025 intake. This undisclosed deal, covering a turbine supply and service agreement, signals a rebound in European offshore procurement following recent market challenges. The contract volume reinforces the Danish OEM's market competitiveness and adds to its substantial order backlog of over $79 billion.

Vestas, the Danish wind turbine producer, has revealed that it secured a substantial offshore wind order totaling 660 megawatts (MW) in the EMEA region. The deal represents one of the most significant additions to its order portfolio for the fourth quarter of the year.

The agreement, which also covers long-term service provisions, points to renewed momentum in the offshore wind sector—especially in Europe. This comes after a challenging period in 2023–2024, when rising inflation, strained supply chains, and weaker power-purchase conditions led to delays, cancellations, and renegotiated contracts. The return of large-scale procurement activity suggests that governments and auction mechanisms are gradually adjusting to the higher investment costs facing the industry.

Consistent with common practice for major energy infrastructure transactions, Vestas has not yet published detailed information about the customer, turbine specifications, or delivery timeline. Such details typically remain undisclosed until the developers have cleared regulatory requirements and finalized financing structures. For now, the company is confirming only the order’s capacity, which will be logged as part of its official Q4 2025 intake.

The 660 MW addition meaningfully strengthens Vestas’ quarterly results. In the previous quarter, the company recorded 4.6 gigawatts of firm turbine orders, reflecting growth of more than 3% compared with the same period in 2024. As of September 30, 2025, Vestas reported a wind-turbine order backlog valued at €31.6 billion. When including service contracts—expected to generate future revenue of €36.6 billion—the total backlog rose to €68.2 billion, up €4.8 billion year-over-year. Vestas continues to hold its position as the leading global turbine supplier, with over 197 GW installed worldwide and a service portfolio exceeding 159 GW. The continued rise in offshore orders highlights the company’s strengthened market position as Europe accelerates its renewable-energy rollout toward 2030 targets.
