Macao Statistics and Census Bureau: The average occupancy rate of hotel rooms in October increased by 0.9 percentage points year-on-year to 89.3%.

According to data from the Macao Statistics and Census Bureau, in October this year, the average occupancy rate of hotel rooms increased by 0.9 percentage points year-on-year to 89.3%, with an increase of 3.0% in guests to 1.211 million; the number of group tour inbound tourists decreased by 20.6% year-on-year to 158,000, but increased by 53.1% compared to the previous month. At the end of October, there were a total of 147 hotel establishments providing accommodation services to the public, an increase of 1 compared to the previous year, with the number of available rooms increasing by 3.4% to 45,000. The average occupancy rate of hotel rooms in October increased by 0.9 percentage points year-on-year to 89.3%, with an increase of 1.8 and 1.0 percentage points in the occupancy rates of five-star (93.5%) and four-star (83.7%) hotels, and a decrease of 2.6 percentage points in the occupancy rate of three-star hotels (82.4%). The number of hotel guests in October increased by 3.0% year-on-year to 1.211 million, with an increase of 1.6% in Mainland Chinese guests (885,000) and a 20.8% increase in international guests (118,000), with guests from South Korea (34,000), Thailand (9,000), Japan (8,000) and India (8,000) increasing by 12.0%, 67.3%, 31.2% and 37.0% respectively; guests from Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (140,000) decreased by 1.9%. The average length of stay increased by 0.1 night year-on-year to 1.7 nights. In October, there were 158,000 group tour inbound tourists, a decrease of 20.6% year-on-year; Mainland Chinese group tourists decreased by 31.3% to 123,000, while international group tourists increased by 18.8% to 22,000. In the first ten months of this year, the average occupancy rate of hotel rooms increased by 3.6 percentage points year-on-year to 89.3%, with a 0.4% increase in guests to 12.121 million, and the average length of stay remained at 1.7 nights. On the other hand, the total number of group tour inbound tourists in the first ten months decreased by 9.5% year-on-year to 1.535 million, with a 16.2% increase in international group tourists to 188,000.
