Super Micro Computer, Inc. (SMCI.US) has collaborated with Intel Corporation (INTC.US) and Micron Technology, Inc. (MU.US) to create a new system. This system set a record in the STAC-M3 benchmark test, which is a benchmark suite used to test high-speed analysis performance of timing market data, particularly suitable for applications in the financial services industry. The benchmark test focuses on real-time quantitative trading, using simulated market buy and sell quotes and settlement transaction data for thousands of assets. It is a full-stack benchmark test, covering all aspects of computing, storage, networking, and software in a multi-user environment. The system utilizes Super Micro Computer, Inc.'s PB-level (Petascale) servers, Intel Corporation's Xeon 6 processors, Micron 9550 solid-state drives (SSD) and DDR5 memory, as well as KX Software's kdb+ database, and was tested at the STAC Summit held in New York City. Alvaro Toledo, Vice President and General Manager of Micron's core data center business in the Americas, stated, "In the rapidly changing market of securities trading, a millisecond difference can mean millions of dollars in profit variance, making speed the most crucial 'currency.' In the audited STAC-M3 tests, the Micron 9550 NVMe solid-state drive and DDR5 RDIMM memory achieved extremely low and stable latency under high I/O load and computationally intensive operations, converting market data into actionable insights at an unprecedented speed. Our technological collaboration with Super Micro Computer, Inc., Intel Corporation, and KX Software not only broke performance records, but also provided traders with the core advantage they need to succeed." In Tuesday's market trading, Super Micro Computer, Inc. saw a 1.53% increase in stock price, Intel Corporation's stock price rose by 5%, and Micron Technology, Inc. saw a slight increase of 0.82%.
