In the third quarter of 2025, the tourism price index in Macau decreased by 0.82% compared to the same period in the previous year.

According to data from the Statistics and Census Bureau of Macau, the tourism price index in the third quarter of 2025 dropped by 0.82% compared to the same period last year. This was mainly due to a decrease in hotel room rental prices, while the prices of jewelry and entertainment and leisure expenses increased, offsetting some of the decline. Among the various price indices, the price index for accommodation dropped by 11.34% year-on-year, while the price indices for miscellaneous items (such as jewelry, watches, and crafts) and entertainment and cultural activities recorded increases of 8.02% and 7.42% respectively. Compared to the previous quarter, the tourism price index in the third quarter of this year increased by 2.12%. During the summer vacation period, hotel room rental and airfare prices rose, driving up the price indices for accommodation and transportation and communication by 9.66% and 2.89% respectively. On the other hand, the price index for entertainment and cultural activities decreased by 2.30%. The average tourism price index for the most recent four quarters up to the third quarter of this year increased by 0.69% compared to the previous period. The price index for miscellaneous items (+12.09%) recorded a significant increase, while the price indices for accommodation (-6.00%) and medicines and personal care products (-1.94%) decreased. In addition, the tourism price index for the first three quarters increased by 0.57% compared to the same period last year.
