The General Administration of Customs has issued a notice to suspend the entry of products from 2 American poultry companies into China.
On April 4, the General Administration of Customs issued a notice stating that recently, Chinese customs has repeatedly detected the use of the banned drug furan in imported chicken products from the United States. In order to protect consumer health and safety, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Food Safety Law of the People's Republic of China, its implementation regulations, and the Measures for the Safety Management of Import and Export Food of the People's Republic of China, the General Administration of Customs has decided to suspend the entry of poultry products from Mountaire Farms of Delaware, Inc. (registration number CUSA01052002200244) and Coastal Processing, LLC (registration number CUSA01051912250083) in China from the date of this announcement.
