Attention! It is planned to implement flood discharge in the four reservoirs in Sanya, Hainan.
On July 20th, the Water Bureau of Sanya City issued a notice to the general public, tourists, and relevant units. In order to fully respond to the impact of this year's 6th typhoon "Wipha" and its heavy rainfall, it is planned to implement pre-release operations for the Yalong, Chitian, Fuwan, and Shuoyuanchi reservoirs with gates on July 20th at 18:00. The flow rate is planned to be controlled at 20-500m/s, and the discharge volume will be adjusted according to the actual rainfall situation. It is expected that the Banling and Baogu reservoirs, which are medium-sized and without gates, will automatically overflow. To ensure safety, citizens and tourists are urged to enhance their awareness of prevention, stay away from river channels, and refrain from fishing, fishing, wading across rivers, and construction activities during the reservoir discharge period. Relevant units are requested to organize prevention work in advance according to their responsibilities. People in low-lying areas along the downstream riverbanks of the reservoirs should prepare for evacuation to ensure the safety of the lives and property of the people on both sides of the downstream riverbanks during the reservoir discharge period.
