The Guangxi Water Resources Department has initiated a Level Four emergency response for flood defense.

According to the meteorological and hydrological analysis and forecast, Typhoon "Wipha" is expected to affect Guangxi from the 20th to the 22nd of this month. In the southern part of Guangxi, there will be heavy to torrential rain, locally heavy rain or even severe rain. The southern part of Guangxi and the coastal rivers will experience a significant rise in water levels, with some small and medium-sized rivers possibly reaching the warning water level and causing floods. Due to the large accumulated rainfall, heavy rainfall in local areas, and long duration of the rain brought by Typhoon "Wipha", there is a high risk of floods in small and medium-sized rivers, as well as flash floods. In accordance with the flood prevention plan of the Guangxi Water Resources Department, after consultation and assessment, it has been decided to activate the level four emergency response for flood prevention starting at 12:00 on July 20th.
