Leaking of British government classified personnel list
According to a report from the British Broadcasting Corporation on the 19th, the identities of over 100 British officials, including members of the Army Special Air Service and Military Intelligence Section 6, and personal information of over 19,000 Afghan individuals who cooperated with the British government have been leaked, putting a large number of individuals at risk of retaliation. The then British government, in an attempt to cover up the leak, had requested a court to issue a reporting ban. According to reports from multiple British media outlets, the leak occurred in February 2022 when a staff member at the headquarters of the British Special Forces mistakenly sent a batch of personal data of Afghan refugees seeking asylum in the UK to external individuals. The data included detailed personal information of approximately 19,000 Afghan applicants. In August 2023, someone posted some of the information on the social media platform "Facebook" and implied that they could release the remaining data, after which the British government became aware of the leak.
