Hainan Province issued a level III warning for waves in the South China Sea and a level IV warning for storm surges.

According to the Hainan Provincial Marine Forecasting Station, under the influence of Typhoon "Vipa", it is expected that from noon today to tomorrow noon: there will be waves of 5.0-7.0 meters east of Leizhou Peninsula. Near Dongsha, east of Hainan Island, and in the northern part of the Gulf, there will be waves of 3.0-5.0 meters. South of Hainan Island, near Xisha, Zhongsha, Qiongzhou Strait, and near Nansha, there will be waves of 2.5-3.8 meters. The wave warning level in the near sea areas is yellow. Nearshore areas in cities like Haikou, Wenchang, Qionghai, Wanning, Lingshui Li Autonomous County, Sanya, Ledong Li Autonomous County, Dongfang, Changjiang Li Autonomous County, Danzhou, Lingao County, and Chengmai County will experience waves of 2.0-3.0 meters, with a blue wave warning level in these nearshore areas.
