National Joint Fund assists Liaoning in achieving fruitful results in innovation, with a total economic benefit exceeding 41 billion yuan.

In recent years, Liaoning Province has strengthened cooperation with the National Natural Science Foundation of China, actively participated in the National Natural Science Foundation Regional Innovation and Development Joint Fund, focused on the major needs of Liaoning's economic and social development, attracted national research forces, carried out basic research and applied basic research, and achieved significant results. With the support of the national joint fund, around our province's innovative demands such as molecular sieve green catalysts, high-load-bearing steel for bearings, high-strength and toughness alloys for ship propellers, silicon carbide ceramic-based composite materials, new efficient micro-nano optoelectronic materials, and gallbladder and pancreatic endoscopic intervention robots, 28 key technical problems have been solved, 76 granted invention patents have been obtained, 50 major achievements have been transformed, and a cumulative economic benefit of 4.18 billion yuan has been generated. Northeastern University has collaborated with Anshan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. to develop precise control technology for the organization/properties of weld seam effective inclusions, achieving a new output value of 1.95 billion yuan and a new profit of nearly 60 million yuan.
