Hubei shale gas exploration has made significant breakthroughs: for the first time, exploration depths have been increased to the middle and deep layers, with an economic value exceeding trillions of yuan.

According to the Provincial Department of Natural Resources, Hubei Province has discovered shale gas in the Permian strata in the Lichuan-Zhonglu area. The preliminary estimate indicates that the newly added shale gas resources are close to 500 billion cubic meters, with an economic value exceeding 1 trillion yuan.
