Chinese electric vehicles are selling well in Indonesia, with GAC Aion and other brands being on the list.
The data released by the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association recently showed that in the first half of this year, the sales of pure electric vehicles in the Indonesian market increased by 267% year-on-year to 35,749 units, with Chinese automotive brands accounting for 93% of total sales, effectively driving the development of the Indonesian automotive industry and the transition to electrification. According to the statistics of the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association, BYD is the top-selling brand among Chinese electric vehicles, with SAIC-GM-Wuling, Chery, and GAC Aion also making the list. Industry insiders pointed out that the reasons for the significant increase in electric vehicle sales in Indonesia include the variety of electric vehicle brands, high cost-effectiveness, and the continuous progress of localized production.
