According to the latest monitoring information from the flood control department in Maoming City, Typhoon "Nepartak" is expected to move in a west-northwest direction and gradually approach the coastal areas from Shenzhen to Leizhou Peninsula. The intensity of the typhoon is expected to increase, and it is predicted to make landfall in the above-mentioned coastal areas as a typhoon or strong typhoon on the afternoon and evening of the 20th. It is forecasted that Maoming will experience heavy rain, torrential rain, and locally extremely heavy rain from the 20th to the 22nd. The coastal winds will increase to force 9 to 11, with gusts reaching force 13 to 14, and the winds inland will increase to force 8 to 9, with gusts reaching force 12. After comprehensive consultation and assessment, in accordance with the Maoming City Emergency Response Plan for Flood Control, Drought Relief, Wind Resistance, and Cold Resistance, the Maoming City Flood Control Command has decided to upgrade the level of emergency response from level III to level II at 8 pm on July 19th.
