Guangxi issues level four typhoon warning.
The reporter learned from the Guangxi Meteorological Observatory that this year's sixth typhoon "Nepartak" strengthened to a severe tropical storm level at 05:00 today. At 10:00, its center was located on the northeastern sea surface of the South China Sea, about 830 kilometers east-southeast of Yangjiang City, Guangdong Province. The maximum wind force near the center is level 10, and the minimum central pressure is 985 hectopascals. It is expected that "Nepartak" will move west-northwestward at a speed of 20-25 kilometers per hour, continue to strengthen, and gradually approach the coastal areas from Shenzhen, Guangdong to Wenchang, Hainan. It is expected to make landfall on the above-mentioned coast in the afternoon to evening of the 20th. Under its influence, from the afternoon of the 20th to the 21st, there will be heavy rain to torrential rain, locally heavy torrential rain or extremely heavy rain in the Beibu Gulf and southern Guangxi, with winds of level 9-11 in the Beibu Gulf and level 6-8 in southern and eastern Guangxi. Accumulated rainfall: 80-200 millimeters in southern Guangxi, locally over 300 millimeters; 10-40 millimeters in northern Guangxi, locally over 60 millimeters. The Guangxi Meteorological Observatory issued a typhoon level 4 warning at 11:00 this morning. Based on the above situation, the Guangxi Meteorological Bureau has decided to enter level 4 emergency response status for major meteorological disasters at 11:30 on July 19, 2025.
