The Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory issued a message at 11:55 on July 19, 2025, announcing that Typhoon "Veppa" has entered the South China Sea. At 11 o'clock, the center of the typhoon was located in the sea about 650 kilometers southeast of Shenzhen, with maximum winds near the center reaching force 10. It is expected that "Veppa" will move west-northwest at a speed of 20 to 25 kilometers per hour, towards the central and western coasts of Guangdong. The intensity will gradually increase to typhoon level or strong typhoon level, with the possibility of passing close to the Pearl River Delta coast or making landfall near the Pearl River Estuary. On the 20th, it will be within 120 kilometers of Shenzhen. As a result, the wind in Shenzhen will gradually increase to maximum gusts of force 10 to 12 in the second half of the night on the 19th, reaching force 14 in coastal areas, highlands, and sea areas.
