From July 18th to 19th, the strongest rainstorm process since the beginning of the rainy season this year occurred in the eastern part of Qinghai Province, with the maximum precipitation exceeding 100 millimeters. The heavy rainfall caused severe waterlogging in some sections, leading to traffic disruptions. During this round of rainfall, 61 short-term heavy precipitation events were recorded in 12 counties and districts including Gonghe, Hualong, Huzhu, Datong, Haiyan, Huangzhong, and Ping'an. In particular, in Dongwei Village, Daotanghe Town, Gonghe County, the rainfall reached 62.5 millimeters in just one hour from 20:00 to 21:00 on the 18th, causing severe waterlogging in the town, disrupting traffic, and causing flooding in shops and houses along the streets. Local public security, emergency, fire rescue, and traffic departments conducted emergency rescue operations, deploying 33 rescue vehicles and 8 mechanical rescue equipment, mobilizing more than 180 rescue personnel to eliminate internal waterlogging on site, identify risks of waterlogging in walls and buildings, clear road mud, evacuate 31 residents and tourists, and no casualties were reported. The blocked section was reopened for traffic at 22:30 last night.
