Typhoon "Weipa" triggers a double warning in Hainan, with giant waves expected near Dongsha.

According to the Hainan Provincial Oceanic Forecasting Station, a yellow wave warning was issued at 10:00 on July 19, 2025. Due to the influence of Typhoon "Veppa," it is expected that from noon today to noon tomorrow: there will be huge to violent waves of 5.0-7.0 meters near Dongsha. East of Leizhou Peninsula and east of Hainan Island, there will be large to huge waves of 3.5-4.5 meters. Near Xisha, Zhongsha, and Nansha, there will be large waves of 2.5-3.5 meters. South of Hainan Island, there will be medium to large waves of 2.0-2.5 meters. The wave warning level for the coastal waters is yellow. Ships operating in the above-mentioned waters should make preparations in advance for wave protection and avoidance, and pay attention to the subsequent forecasts from the Hainan Provincial Oceanic Forecasting Station.
