Secretary-General Cui Dongshu of the China Passenger Car Association stated that today the Ministry of Finance and the State Administration of Taxation have announced an adjustment to the luxury car consumption tax policy, expanding the scope of taxation. Based on my calculation of price promotions in the past 9 years, I personally believe that the adjustment of the consumption tax on ultra-luxury cars is a corresponding adjustment to the significant changes in market promotion prices. This is beneficial in guiding rational consumption, achieving environmentally friendly sustainable development, and is a normal and reasonable adjustment. The number of ultra-luxury cars accounts for only about one-thousandth of the overall car market size, and has no impact on ordinary consumers.
