The spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in the Bahamas refuted the fallacy propagated by the US Embassy in the Bahamas attacking pragmatic cooperation between China and the Bahamas.

On July 11, the Chinese Ambassador to the Bahamas, Yan Jiarong, and the Bahamian Minister of Health, Duane Sands, signed a government framework agreement for the Nassau New Hospital Loan Project on behalf of their respective governments. The US Embassy in the Bahamas subsequently issued a statement maliciously attacking the project, tarnishing and undermining China-Bahamas cooperation, and spreading the so-called "debt trap theory" about China. The spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in the Bahamas immediately issued a statement to sternly refute these claims.
