Sichuan: "New three products" production continues to expand. In the first half of the year, the production of new energy vehicles has exceeded the total annual production of 2024.

On July 17th, the Sichuan Provincial Government Information Office held a press conference. Yang Zhigang, deputy director of the Sichuan Provincial Statistics Bureau and spokesperson, introduced the economic performance of Sichuan in the first half of 2025. Yang Zhigang stated that the province is accelerating the cultivation of new quality productive forces, promoting sustained high-quality, green, and intelligent economic development, and continuously developing and strengthening new driving forces. In the first half of the year, the added value of Sichuan's power batteries, new energy vehicles, and vanadium and titanium industries increased by 36.5%, 11.0%, and 13.8% respectively. The output of "new three items" products continued to expand, with the production of new energy vehicles, photovoltaic batteries, and lithium-ion power batteries for automobiles increasing by 2.4 times, 1.9 times, and 53.2% respectively. In the first half of the year, Sichuan's production of new energy vehicles reached 144,000 vehicles, exceeding the level for the entire year of 2024, accounting for 27.6% of the province's total vehicle production, an increase of 16.2 percentage points from the same period last year.
