Former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra receives a pardon.

The Department of Corrections of Thailand announced on June 9 that former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra had been removed from electronic monitoring device and granted amnesty. Thai Justice Minister Rutapong stated in an interview with the media on June 3 that according to the amnesty decree issued by King Maha Vajiralongkorn on June 2, Thaksin met the conditions for amnesty and was one of the recipients of pardon.
