$110 billion Hollywood "Century Merger" suddenly under investigation by the UK: Paramount (PSKY.US) acquisition of Warner (WBD.US) adds new variable
According to the Securities Times APP, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) of the United Kingdom has formally launched an investigation into the acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery by Paramount Skydance Company for $110 billion. CMA has set a preliminary ruling deadline of August 7th to decide whether to approve this massive deal that would merge two Hollywood studios. These two companies own classic films from "Casablanca" and "Harry Potter" to "Mission: Impossible", as well as major news networks CNN and CBS, streaming giant HBO, and dozens of cable TV channels.
