Wang Guobiao, former deputy secretary of the Party Committee and deputy general manager of the Shenzhen Branch of the Agricultural Bank of China, was sentenced to ten years and three months in the first instance.
On June 9th, the Intermediate People's Court of Heze City, Shandong Province, publicly pronounced the verdict of Wang Guobiao, former deputy secretary of the Party Committee and deputy director of China Agricultural Bank Shenzhen Branch, on charges of bribery. Wang Guobiao was sentenced to ten years and three months in prison for accepting bribes and fined RMB 600,000. Illegal gains confiscated during the investigation were also ordered to be turned over to the state treasury. It was found through the trial that from January 2017 to September 2023, Wang Guobiao used his positions as a member of the Party Committee, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, and deputy director of the China Agricultural Bank Shenzhen Branch to illegally receive a total of RMB 6.05 million in money from others for providing assistance in project contracting and settlement of engineering funds for relevant units and individuals.
